Anytime we give in to falsehood, we shut the door for the gospel to continue with a generation.
Hello! Good evening my friend. How’re you doing? Welcome to this week’s edition of The Jesus Therapy Seven. It’s my earnest prayer that as we seek to know God more, our lives will take the perfect form necessary to fulfil His purposes, in Jesus’ name, Amen!

And this occurred because of false brethren secretly brought in (who came in by stealth to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage), to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
Galatians 2:4-5 NKJV
This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves. We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.
- Galatians 2:4-5 NIV
Would you believe it if you were told that many of those in the Church have not heard the true message of the gospel? What they’ve heard are adulterated versions of the truth that have lost their power to convict men because of the transgenerational dilutions.
In Galatians, we see Paul’s heart. Having attained maturity, He knew that his practice of Christianity would have a domino effect on the Christians coming after him. His compromise or otherwise of the requirements of the Christian faith will either weaken or strengthen what is passed on to the next generation.
Of a truth, our faith in the Lord Jesus transcends beyond us. Like the last piece of the domino set, it reaches the farthest end of the spectrum.
Truth must be preserved.
Truth must be entrusted to faithful men.
Truth must be guarded.
Truth produces mighty men in every generation.
We see the danger of the lack of truth in the book of Judges — “When all that generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation arose after them who did not know the Lord nor the work which He had done for Israel” (2:10). How painful!
In 1 Corinthians 3, we see Paul again guarding the truth:
One of you says, “I belong to Paul,” and another says, “I belong to Apollos.” When you say things like this, you are acting like people of the world.
Is Apollos important? No! Is Paul important? No! We are only servants of God who helped you believe. Each one of us did the work God gave us to do.
1 Corinthians 3:4-5 NCV
Do we not see this same trend today among Christians? Are there still Christians clad with the Pauline passion to point people back to the truth? Definitely. However, our generation needs more truth-bearers who would not spare the chance to point men to the truth. Even when Peter was complicit, Paul took responsibility for redirecting him (Gal. 2:11-16). May the Lord help us!
There’s Hope
Have you ever wondered what would have been the case if the Bible was not preserved for us? It’s better left to the imagination what would have become of the gospel. Yet, how do we come to the fullness of truth if we rely only on the versions of truth proclaimed by men? When will we addictedly begin to search out the whole counsel of God in the Bible?
Prayer:
Lord, preserve a generation in me
Help me guard the truth of your gospel no matter whose ox is gored
I will take the pain of being tagged fanatical
By your grace, I will not spare any chance to point men to the truth of the gospel
Goodbyes
Holy words long preserved
for our walk in this world,
They resound with God's own heart
Oh, let the Ancient words impart.
Words of Life, words of Hope
Give us strength, help us cope
In this world, where e'er we roam
Ancient words will guide us Home.
May the Lord help us not add or take out of His Word, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Till next time,
Wednesday, God willing.
I’ve been studying Galatians too!
Thank you for this dear sister. The Lord bless you real good.
