If you made it to November, 2020, God is gracious!
Happy New Month to you.
Did you get the memo?
We are (me and my non-existent workers) back!
How have you really been?
Since I’m trying to make up for my absence, this will be long. First, I missed Independence. How was the 1st of October for you?
Truthfully, I never thought I’d be back now—not in the heat of the sadness.
I don’t remember the Genesis. I only recall that we got to Revelation in a blink. Everything happened so fast. This minute we were all chanting #endSARS #endpolicebrutality and on the next tick of the clock, we were dying in the numbers. No, we weren’t dying from natural causes; the government saddled with protecting us was snatching our lives away. We had our voices, they had the weaponry.

Well, since everyone is trying to have their head in the sand, this is supposed to be a healthy distraction from what’s going on in the world, intentionally holding back on the gory details. I mean, we saw it all on twitter. Even now, many are trying so hard to protect what’s left of their faith and mental health.
However, the Nigerian youths remember 20/10/2020. To know what happened on that day, click here. We still pray for the families grieving the loss of their loved ones. May the God of all comfort fill the void that’s been left behind, Amen. The fight for justice is not over. We’d speak up for what is right and by the grace of God, exercise our franchise come 2023. Nigeria is destined for greatness no matter whose ox is gored.
In the main, my job here is to keep hope alive.
Talk is cheap. It’s easier said than done.
YES. But are you trying to do it alone?
Sadness looms
Very little left to lean on
Dashed hope
Buried dreams
Still, they say believe?
Yes. How?
The healthiest response to a hungry child is to feed it. Same works in reviving a broken soul. FEED IT with healthy material.
Faith feeds on the Word of God. Never stop feeding it.
2020, CONSOLATION AND DEALING WITH LOSS.
People are rather agitated with the whitewashed consolation, “Don’t worry, with time you’ll be fine”. I mean, isn’t that what courtesy behooves people to say?
Have you really met a mourning person? You may be sensitive to notice that time doesn’t necessarily cut it. Every day, it feels like the wound gets fresher.
I’ve come to understand that when God enters a building, miracles happen. You never remain the same. So instead of giving time the power to heal, give it to God.
God heals you completely! Have you shown Him your wounds?
MAKE CONSOLATION SPIRIT FILLED.
Remind them of their place as a child of God.
Remind them of His saving power.
Personally, my favorite chapter in the book of Job is where God finally speaks —chapter 38.
He begins, “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words?”
He let them feign wisdom as they voiced all that their hearts could humanly conceive. All the while, he watched. God watched.
GLORY!!!
Who are we to obscure His plans because it seems uncomfortable to our human senses?
FAITH BELIEVES.
As hard as it is to believe, God is actually still working for the good of ALL that love Him. Perhaps misfortunes never come singly, but believe that it is for the saving power of God to be made manifest. He calms the raging storm. He heals the broken-hearted. Speak life!
Sincerely, it’s easier said than done. Most times I even find myself struggling but the truth is that it only sounds cheap if you’re trying to do it own you own.
(The Holy Spirit just entered the building)
Ask Him to help you.
Ask him to convict, counsel and comfort you.
Turn down the background noise and listen to Him.
Worship. Cry. Praise. Pray. Repeat.
Talk to Him from your heart. Hear his voice through His word.
God is always speaking. We’re the ones not listening.
I can always share some verses of the Bible to help you. You can send a direct mail.
We may lose everything dear to us but we choose to never lose our faith.
Never stop trusting.
Never stop believing.
The Bible says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of Christ. – Romans 10:17
Feed. Your. Faith.
Goodbyes
It’s so good to be here again. Please pray for me to remain consistent and true to this cause. This is rather a Hello.
Till next time,
Wednesday, God-willing.
Am super proud of you girl, and thanks for the beautiful piece
